Role Overview
Events Team Members bring Jewish Community Server to life through programming that gives people reasons to show up, participate, and connect. You'll help plan, organize, and run events that turn a Discord server into an actual community.
This is a remote volunteer role. The work centers on coordination, creativity, and making sure things actually happen when they're supposed to.
Events vary widely. Some weeks you might be helping organize a casual game night. Other times you could be coordinating a structured learning session, a holiday celebration, or a special guest program. You'll work with teammates to brainstorm ideas, nail down schedules, handle logistics, and support events as they happen. Some of this work is behind the scenes. Some requires you to be present in real time.
The most important qualities for this role are organization and reliability.
What You'll Do
You'll help build out event calendars, coordinate with speakers or hosts, write announcements, and make sure everything is in place before an event goes live. During events, you'll help things run smoothly. Afterward, you might gather feedback to figure out what worked and what we can do better next time.
What We're Looking For
You're organized and communicative. You like taking an idea and turning it into something that actually happens. You follow through on commitments and pay attention to the details that make events feel polished instead of thrown together.
Experience with event planning, facilitation, or community programming is useful, but we're more interested in people who are dependable and genuinely excited about creating experiences for others.
